wonderful weekend :)
Friday I headed up to the much missed city of Denver to ride at the bike shop (we won't talk about how out of shape I am...) but anyway got on the bike for a bit--headed off to babysit! Such sweet kiddos.. Then to Carm's for the evening!!!
I picked Joe up from the airport on Saturday, headed to the awesome town of Breck! Saw their new house, ate a quick pb and j and after my 10 min. stay there i jetted back in the car to vail. Last night Mindy and I grabbed dinner at Los Amigos- watched old school and drank peppermint hot chocolate. This morning I hit the slopes alone on my board and must say came out with NO bruises, lunch with Matt and Mindy then snowshoeing Vail pass for the afternoon. We are headed back to vail village for dinner and some outs! then slopes tomorrow.
peace! :)

Cactus, Moving, Bruised, LOCKED OUT!
hahahahah... how are you all? (as i'm going insane)
I have to keep this brief but i've been meaning to fill you all in on the endeavors of the last few weeks. I threw Daniel a surprise part vs. going out to steamboat springs because of time crunches we both had... at that I did a handstand on our mexican tile floor in the kitchen...still unsure as to why at this moment. it left one heck of a bruise on my hip! (comparative to the one on large's arm. I believe it was last winter she blogged about that)
the following day we went for a hike and i sat on a cactus. Yes, read that sentence again- I sat on a cactus--two weeks later I'm still pulling cacti (sp) out of my bum! Sweeeeetttttt..
so in the process of both of us working and finishing up a semester we are moving to CO Springs- we had to be out of our apt. by tom. because the girl coming in has to be in... go figure so we got a uhaul last night loaded it up and about 10pm headed to the springs, only to get to south denver and drive back to our apt. to sleep.. yeh, i know. i was driving daniels car and just wasn't all that comfortable with black ice and not being able to see- the roads were probably fine... but you know me- the last thing i would want to do is ruin someone else's car. anywho- i have a great bf that took me concerns into consideration. however, he left our place this morning to drive to work with the packed up uhaul and left the keys to our new place in his car.. little did he know i was usign his keys lat night so i left the keys to my car in his car and the keys to his car and my apartment in my car ALL LOCKED! did you follow that sentence? Now, i'm sitting here - need to be to work in 45 min. waiting for a lock smith to come unlock his car so I can get into my car! swwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeetttttttttttttttttt......... meanwhile- daniel will be done work at 2pm and i wont' be to the springs till 3:30/4pm and his xmas party starts at 5pm... crunch time! at least I have an xmas party to look forward to.. tata for now folks. have a great day and happy december.

Down and out!
Our little mini-vaca was great. Wedding was beautiful. Bride was beautiful although I did not know her. They did something awesome for their reception- it was in a children's museum and they didn't do a formal sit down dinner rather they did snacks and apps! I liked it a lot. So congrats to Jake and Jill!
The later part of the week we just chilled at Daniel's mom's house. It was soooo relaxing. I had a wonderful time and got lots and lots of sleep. It was nice to be back in a small town again- it is amazing how much I destress when I don't have to think about traffic, spending most of my day driving and what not.
It kind of stinks cause I have a wonderful job but the drive has beat me down over the last 8 months. I have decided that for the next 8 months or so school has to be my primary priority. I've just got to finish and get myself in a steady pace.
so what else is new. I went out on the MOB group ride on sunday and had fun. Funny, being in a chunk of bikes on the side of the road is similar to being in a chunk of traffic on the road--whoah Daniel is going to shoot me when he reads that statement. I actually had a ton of fun and met some really cool chicks but it is obvious i need to get comfortable in a group. Now, this may be because I'm new to this whole cycling thing anyway but also because i like to go fast when i want to go fast and slow when i want to go slow (haha i'm so selfish) and when your stuck in the middle of a group that makes it just a twinge more difficult. ... oh well. I might be riding with some girls in boulder this weekend, if... i'm feeling better--which hopefully i can be by then. I'm going to play in a lax league on Sunday nights as well for the remainder of our stay in denver then it is adios to the springs!
Anyway, must nap now feeling like poo.... then up to do some more school work then i'm desperately going to try to make it to class this evening.
oh by the way the picture is of Daniel's neice and nephews. We cared animal faces in pumpkins while we were there, it was fun and they are soooooooooooooooo cute!

Fresh Air, Fresh Perspective

Fresh Air, Fresh Perspective
so this week sure has been a busy one. I'm sitting here now wondering where it went. I've spent roughly four/five hours in front of my computer doing papers.. YUCK three down two to go! Almost there... My breaks have included cleaning the house and running to the grocery store.... eeekk.. and I think used a bit too much clorox in the bathroom because i'm starting to get this light headed feeling..
so now, my third break of the day, is blogging. I'm taking some time to do some brainless work on the computer because I know if I get up I'm not going to be sitting back down and i've got mounds of stuff to finish before I head to Nashville, Huntsville, and Murray next weekend! We are going to visit Daniel's friends and family. It will be a fun trip, and a much needed trip. I'll even get to see my aunt in there somewhere yeahhhhhhh!
so anyway back to the topic: fresh air, fresh perspective. I spent the later part of last week and this past weekend in Vail at a school psych conference, only to jump in the car and head down to CO Springs last night to meet Daniel and all his employees and colleagues. We had some apps and I had a glass of wine, I could only keep it to one cause my body I think was still feeling the effects of the night prior in Vail.. awwwhhh Vail. haha. Anyway, the social was a lot of fun and I'm super stoked for Daniel and his new job. i'm also so lucky to have spent the last four days in the mountains and although the springs isn't the mountains, there are mountains that are just a bit closer than denver. okay okay one peak but it sure is prettier.
so back to the mtns. I realized this weekend the little things I've missed. I know i've been going on a year now of self-reflection and I truly think....as much as I love denver and the city i'm not a city girl... i can be and I still want to be at times but deep down i'm not. it was so nice to role over (and to be in that huge high comfy bed at Cascade-Vail resort) look out the french door windows at a babbling stream and a snow peaked mtn. so.... i know where i must be! It was almost as if I could breathe in life again, beyond deadlines and dressing to impress. I discovered that i preferred running at altitude (even though I sucked..) rather than having the perfect manicure (Oh wait..i never have.. haha)...
it was worth getting up at dawn (which i've found extremely hard in denver over the last month or so) to watch the early-morning sun rise over the mtns. and that eing in a place where the sky stretched endlessly and wasn't broken by skyscrappers made me happy... truly happy..
Most importantly though, being in a peaceful environment actually made me feel at peace.. a feeling i haven't felt in a long time. I was able to relax and unwind without having to think about booking a massage or running till i ran everything out of me or trying to find time to fit in the gym during a crazed day.
so moral of my story we are all different people and we need to find what is unique to us do something that forces you to look inside yourself and figure otu what you really want out of life. I have realized that as much as I love all the city has to offer, a world of experiences are out there that i've been missing since I was growing up. I've always been open to new experiences and starting over in new places... i was starting to get stuck here and starting to worry that I wouldn't start over and this was the end so i'm happy to admit that i'm excited to be moving once again and starting over all over again. CO Springs may be a bit conservative for me and it still is a city but.... its smaller than denver and you can get out faster and it just may be what I need... hopefully my hair will stop falling out and my ears will stop ringing along the way again...cause... they didn't ring last night or the nights in vail so.. I'm guessing its a sign.
okay now no more daydreaming and back to my endless amount of school work..
have a wonderful week my friends :)

peace out!
Poudre Canyon, Fort Collins, COGood day to ya all or well maybe I should say good night. However, I opted to run this evening and so.. it is now 8:50pm and I am just starting my school work.. OUCH.
I needed to though, I thought i had taken about a week a half off running (well distant running, I have done some short off on the treadmill) but... as I look back at my running log it has been since Sept. 9th.. OUCH! I ran 7.5 miles w/ sneaks that were way toooo old and way tooo small got the biggest blister I have ever seen in my life, and Daniel confirmed that. Got a bruised toenail and i guess got ... lazy! I' think since then i've only been on three or four rides as well.. that is because someone keeps stealing my wheels though.. haha just kidding-- he needs them more than I.
So i'm going to start marking my training on here along with on my map my run website! I'm running a 5miler on Sunday.. wish my luck since tonight was the first time i ran (i did 5.4 miles) since the beg. of Sept. My goal was to keep at the very least an 8:30 min./mi. pace since my old 5 mile time was about 7.30min/mi but i think that is wishful thinking after ya know after the foot surgery and a bout of laziness---okay being way to busy and packed schedule.
anywho- no time for excuses. i'm just running to have fun at this point in my life. I'm gonna be back on the lax field this spring and that will be when it is time to kick some ass soooo watch out for my stick striping you of the ball!!!!
peace out biznitches!

If I had a Million Dollars..........

Ah BNL, one of my favorite bands!! I don't have much time to blog but do have a bit extra. I'm headed dow
I'm headed to Castle Rock again today for a training in Crisis Prevention/Intervention/Trauma. I'm excited. The practicum experience is really starting to open up and those are the days I feel some of my true colors start to shine. I just need to get over the bout of nervousness I get every now and then..
I don't have much to report besides school.. eeekk.. i'm loving it, i truly do enjoy being in school. i'm wishing for it to be over i won't lie but know i'm going to miss it as soon as that happens! Nonetheless, i'm trying to figure out how to decrease my work load. May not be long and I'll officially truly be a student!
Things are great, couldn't be better! I have a good for the most part flexible job, I'm working on furthing myself, and I live with my wonderful boyfriend..... One thing could be a bit better- the workout scene. I'd like to have the time to put some serious training in there is so much i want to do. I want to get back on my feet wtih running and running fast comfortably. Against my will (just kidding) I got into the road biking thing and actually find myself bummed that I can't get riding hours in due to up and have to be out just before light and home after dark... I also have this huge urge to dive back into climbing--really misss it a bunch.. Oh and of course I've ditched the skis once and for all for a board.. wooottt wooot and snow is coming!! :) Lastly, one of these weekends, hopefully soon Daniel and I will head out to mtn bike. I'm expecting to come back all scrapped and bruised up but nonetheless i'm sure it will be fun..
okay must email my boss about decreasing hours- i'm sticking to my philosophy of life- you've got to have time to enjoy it or what is it worth? Like said "you can't jump the tracks while your cars on a cable. Life's like an hour glass glued to the table" thus meaning get out and enjoy it, your never going to say you regret trying something new or taking time for yourself- what you are goign to regret is working too much and.... missing out on opportunities.
so for ya all happy happy happy tuesday :)

just wasting some valuable time.
so this quote just struck me for some odd reason.
I haven't blogged in a while and in all honesty am feeling a bit guilty about doing it now. I took the day off because I was sick and to get school work done, which i've been putting off and... it is 12:25 already and not a lick of it has been touched.
OUCH... why can't I focus.
So I don't have must exciting to write because the fact that I get up two mornings out of the week at 5:30am (okay yesterday it was 4am) and go to work/school till about 8pm every night. So... workouts yeh IF they happen it is bright and early 6er or so.. I keep swearing I won't do this over and over and over again and I keep just doing it.. packing my schedule.
So 7 more classes to go. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.. I just may be a prof. soon enough. I'm on practicum right now. It is going well, a little slow as of yet but well nonetheless.
I just wish I could wake up every morning at about 5er or 5:30ish and feel energized, not exhausted. I'm hoping when this cold finally passes I'll be back on track but......track just seems so off right now. It is probably because I spend the majority of my day in a car running all around the outskirts of denver and because my schedule is sooooo random that it is hard to get in the groove with anything at all..
okay my bitch session is over for the moment.
I almost thought about putting school on hold and coaching lax again. I miss playing and coaching but like said "all good things come to an end." School is number one priority as of now just finish before I decide it is something else I want to do..... tunnel, light, tunnel, light... next august coursework will be completed.. haha i just keep talking myself through it.
my weekends are packed crazy but i wish they were packed with camping trips and such out of the city and into the mountains..soon soon soon!
anyway, sorry a very boring and not so much uplifting post. Nov. i'm running a 5k and another one in dec. maybe i'll have more to report then..
until.. smiles lots of them!

Daniel and I on Independence pass
August 13, 2006
one of my bestest from home
Aug. 5th, 2006
Not much to report. School as started again. Again this summer I tried to spend as many weekends as I could outside of Denver. The pic of Timmuh and I is in NY..one of our last nights there :) boo hooo.. I miss that place. Upon our return from NY four days later Daniel and I managed to head to snowmass and visit aspen and camp near independence past. The following weekend I stayed here in Denver, due to class. Last weekend (26th and 27th) we headed down to Durango to visit Daniel's friend, Dave.
Durango was fun. I saw a lot more of the town this time than I did last summer. I actually really enjoyed it. More and more I'm enjoying the small town atmosphere... I spent most of my days just cruising around the streets and window shopping.....of course though, I managed to come home with three SMALL shopping bags... two items for me and three items for others! hehehe... Daniel and I hit up a road ride, about 30 miles or so, it was nice. Slow pace, we were both dead but nonetheless fun.....
Looks like weekend classes will be holding me in Denver for a while but... hey what is a few weekends in sept. down here when i know the snow is coming and i'll be spending most of nov and dec. in the mtns.. let it snow let it snow let it snow...i'm ready!!
okay back to reading... blah.. then benny's for some margs and mexican food yuuuummmm! :)
Happy Labor Day Friends!

tapped out!
anyway. school is officially underway again and i'm overwelmed with stuff to do and work.. i feel like i'm putting school (one of the most important things to me) on the backburner and it is killing me. then again i'm a creature of habit and my habit is to jam my schedule and stress myself out. i'm done though-i can't handle what i used to and it is creeping its way into other wonderful aspects of my life and i HATE that.. .. so i have decided today that i'm slowing down. i know i know i know i've said this a million times but.. i need to put my focus where my focus needs to be that is finsihing school sooner than later and getting my butt out of the city... i'm tried of the hussle- it just isn't my style as much anymore. yikes.. scary i'm getting old.. haha
anywho.. smiles all around :)
Sunday, July 23, 2006

haha, i am a bit ridiculous but anyway it is 10pm and i'm at the bottom of page 5er.... 10 more to go 10 more to go and i swear i'm gonna stop wasting time.
nonetheless, I finally got the pics up from TN in April, NY in May, and some from this summer in CO.. go under my photos and then under the misc. folder! ENJOY..
i'm not sure how i feel right now but i think this picture sums it up nicely... g'night
It is 9:30pm... 3 pages written.. my brain doesn't want to work.. it is going to be a late night.. awwwhhh and i'll ask myself the question one more time: "why didn't I work on this this afternoon?"not that any of you care but i'll leave you updates throughout the evening.. 12 more pages to go--on my social construction and how I fit and who I am in America... YIKES...
Procrastination
Fall Creek Falls, TNApril 2006
Funny how I had five things to do today: run, clean apartment, clean car, write 15 page paper, study for final... Funny, how it is 7:30pm and I have not started a single one of them...
Nope instead I went back to sleep, got a shower, went to storage picked up a snowboard/bike rack for my car, ran to REI, went to lunch with Alison and Karie at 3:30pm and left lunch with Al at 5:30pm with a $37 tab OUCH! app, salad, wine! ouch ouch ouch.. that should not cost that much at all.. came home, went for a walk talked to a couple of friends on the phone and now am settling in on my bed to write the paper.. yuck! oh well
off to New York soon...but not soon enough! toodles!

learning to ride a bike....
Nonetheless, it was fun and I was challenged. After I got my bout of "pissedoffness" (yep, its a word now), I was good to go up maybe 1/8 of lookout mountain, okay maybe not even and 1/8 but it is a start. right? :( I'll just keep pluggin away bit by bit.. sometimes I wonder why i have to be so competitive because then when I feel it is out of my realm i shut down and quit performing..... plus, riding makes me miss lacrosse. i miss being really good at something... it'll come it will come..
Headed to NY... ROAD TRIP next week.. super exciting. I can't wait to see my friends and my family!!!! CANNOT WAIT.. I miss them oh soooooooo much. It is so funny when you are so far away and don't have the luxuries of just stopping in and saying hi or going grocery shopping at your grandparents' and parents' houses............. or just sitting and eating stove popped popcorn and a glass of wine while watching a movie with my other grandmama...those are the things I took for granted when I was living there that I miss the most! oh tear... miss my family.. i am forever grateful for the wonderful grandparents and parents that i have.. I'll post again with pictures! Read below its good.. now off to write a 5 page paper, a 15 page paper, and study for a final... shaaaaabangggggg butt whipping!
Never Argue with a Woman
One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.
Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.
She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.
Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the
woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")
"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.
"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fi shing. I'm reading."
"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."
"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.
" But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.
"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment."
"Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.

Helloooo Denver....
I am sitting at my favorite coffee shop again, putting off school work..... It has been a lazy Saturday afternoon. I got up around 9am jogged four miles, worked two hours, went home and slept for 3 hours.... wow... so untypical of me, considering after that I laid on my bed and talked on the phone for a little over an hour... lazy lazy lazy...
Tomorrow we are up bright and early to go hike Herman Lake or something like that... It should be fun...
I felt like I actually had a story to post and.... I can't remember it now to save my life.. hmmmm.. I go home in three weeks!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I can't wait. School has started again and my fall is packed but oh well.. what can ya do!? get through it thats all I have to remember, just get through it.
I'm going to miss this place when I leave but I don't think I will stay. A lot could change in a year that is for sure and so I can't promise that I won't stay but.... I have got this travelling bug once again and we all know what happened last time I got it this bad... I ended up half way across the world... i'm ready for that again... but hey i'm going into our country's failing educational system so.....I'll have summers off and lots of time to travel!
I think that is about it. I should go to it and work on that paper. Sorry my posts haven't been all that exciting!

sssssswwwwwwwweeeeeeeettttttttt Emotions
other news in my world.... my biggest fear is coming true and it has sent me on this whirlwind of emotions--I think I liked it better when i didn't feel.. oh wait... i still don't! haha or at least I keep telling myself that.
past weekend---awesome awesome awesome.. my family took me up to their mtn. house and took me sailing...then i hit up the WP with Carm. We were hoping to lay out but by the time we finished running and lifting the sun was gone and thunder clouds had rolled in.. We ended up watching sweet home alabama and eating pita chips and hummus all afternoon-i can't remember the last time i did that. then out to dinner then back to denver for moi.
next weekend destination: steamboat springs! hoot hoot!
lastly the best pick up line i've ever heard: "do you want to see my one-eyed trouser snake" funny funny funny story behind that one!
happy fourth! mauh! i'll put some pics up soon!

I'm sitting in this cute little coffee shop listening to this great random band do cover songs.. They are pretty good and it is super chill! i am loving the weather! I also started running tonight again with the old ACA crew. I did about 3 miles in about 25 min. better than I thought! that is exciting. I miss the ACA, but I love my job now as well... I just miss going to work and seeing a certain crew of people everyday----so if you all are readers get your butts to running Thursday nights at 7pm. We are doing a half marathon in the fall, hopefully! I am excited.
What else do I have to post.... not to much really. Went camping last weekend. Got to the mtns. on Saturday evening. Had dinner with some of my bestest, Carm and Mindy. Daniel, his sister, and her husband joined it was nice.... We went to a podunk rodeo to watch Kent, Carm's boy, ride for 7 seconds but it was lots of fun and a new experience for me. We set up camp about 11pm and dozed off shortly after that... well of course i barely slept all night but.. i love camping so i'll take the no sleep. Sunday Carm, Julie, and I hiked in winter park. i forgot the name of the trail... it was good though- almost to tree line with an excellent view! :) whoooohooooo
This coming weekend is yet another busy one. I'm working on a paper tomorrow afternoon and tom. night (yep waited till very last min. again) then i'm headed to meet a classmate, then off to a friends bbq!!! Yeh, haven't seen margs in FOREVER! Saturday i'm headed up to Grand Lake with one of my families!!! We are going sailing. Two other therapists are going with their boys or sign. others and i'll be flying solo but it is all good! Sunday I'm meeting Carm in winter park for a hike and laying in the sun!! whooo hoo.. gotta fix those tan lines for bryn's wedding in five weeks.
Next week I start classes again, second summer session already in swing. YUCK....
The following weekend a friend (wont' mention names) is throwing a get together and then... Satuday we are headed on a camping trip for Jen's bday!!! yeh! we are either headed to the sand dunes or to hike a fourteener, camp at the top, and hike down the next morning.. anyway is welcome to come so holler if you want to go!
I think that is it! I'm gonna go listen to their rolling stones cover band then head home to work on my paper! ugh... then to work in the a.m.
all of ya have a wonderful friday and weekend for that matter!
miss ya much!

Things are good! I am happy, although I'm working off 2 1/2 hours of sleep and want to be home curled up in my bed.... oh well, my own fault- who leaves two papers and one semi-big project to the last two days... I DO... :(
Anyway, bit by bit I'm feeling more and more rejuvinated. I went white water rafting yesterday down a class IV- the water we moving at a pretty decent speed. Our guide was good, considering I didn't feel like we were getting bumped around enough..... haha I like to be just on the edge of the scared/nervous side....haha.. So his lines were clean and our trip was pretty smooth!
That is about all I have to say though -i'm excited for the upcoming weekends as I gear up and prepare to head out of the city and into the mtns. for some much needed adventures. I will keep you all posted. For now, Happy Monday and have a wonderful week!

Bad Flippin Mood and it feels strange
Luckily, I had only two credit cards in there and neither had been used. However, I also had my check book so I have to wait to Tuesday to change my entire flippin account again. I had to do this when my car was stolen back in Sept. so.... I can tell you from experience it is a big pain in the ass.
Among other things was a decent chunk of cash- I will never see... A friend's hat, I was suppose to mail back to NY, a pay check, my digital camera, a coach wallet, okay a fake one but nobody knew that.. My flippin license and a ton of other ID, my insurance cards, a ton of business cards with names i needed, and..... a bunch of other random cards like AAA, and such... what a pain? Some people suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blah...
I am working on a credit watch report as we speak.. I hate to say it but it is actually kind of freaky. I never carry my soc. card and the one time I do have it with me my purse is stolen. someone is walking around right now with my bank card, my checks, my id, my soc. card, a credit card, several cards w/ my name on it, the keys to both my apartments and to my car.... It might not seem so bad if I have slept but I officially have been up for around 30 hours straight or something like that... I also haven't been able to eat a single thing today and it isnt' because i'm hung over. it is because i'm so worked up that my stomach just keeps doing flips.... dang I can't function like this at all.... I am going for a walk with Karie and then taking some nice sleepy medicine and praying i make it through the night...

This is Carm and I from Mindy's wedding!!! soo fun!!!why i am posting I do not know. I'm tired, it is late, i shouldn't be up. I have to work tomorrow.. yikes pikipes! I am trying to upload pics of mindy's wedding and drink some water.. okay lots of water but neither is working right now.. I must sleep.. i feel sleep coming on.. I am drinking this entire pitcher of water before I go to bed. I am soooo dehydrated.. yikes!

on your mark get set go ready go lets go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I awoke to feel me bouncin around the room..-- that is the only phrase that can describe it today! I woke it a spectacular mood feeling great at 5:45am. Not sure how considering I fell asleep at midnight in my bathrobe and woke up at 3am to put on pjs, get some water and read a bit... I feel like I slept great though.
then I threw my leg over the side of the bed and felt how sore I was from lifting and running red rocks last night and it felt even better. I love being sore. My hammies aren't screaming today yeah!! However, my quads def. are letting me know they got a workout!!! that makes me happy.
I threw on running shoes for a quick 20 min. jog this am and now i'm showering and headed to the new apt. to find clothes. Yes friends, I have a few clothes here and the rest in boxes and bags at the other place----driving me up a wall.
i'm going to pick up two dressers tomorrow night! yeh!!! So it will be much better after this weekend..
okay shower, new apt., target, nanny, gym then it is Nicole's all white party tonight!!! let the festivities begin.. I flippin love summer :)
Smiles all around!

The only thing constant is that nothing stays the same....

to the left are the friends I have to put up with on a daily basis.. This was the night of my birthday downtown!Hiya guys!!!
So I have to admit I'm debating on scaling back the blogging. First off, I don't have too awful much to write but secondly, does everyone really need to know about each and every little detail. I dunno?
However, I'll fill you in now. I have some of the greatest friends. It is so funny who you meet along life's paths. My friend, Clint, and I sat outside tonight on his front porch and talked the shit over two fat tires. Even though I'd never admit this to him, he has become one of my good friends. He just doesn't need to know his status yet.. haha.. But really we talked about their neighbors, about his dog sammy, about the dog I was suppose to get, about lacrosse and regis, about school and life in general. I have a lot of friends but there are few I really consider "good friends."
As for me, nothing and everything has changed. I'm still stubborn old heather trying to make my way in a world of confusion and fun. the path life leads you down is a amazing, really one moment your at point A and the next your at point B. That is what I really love about life-you just don't know where it is going to take you and the only thing you do know is that you are in control of your own feelings and nobody else's. Weird, I sound like a psychologist or something?? haha.
I couldn't be happier about life in general right now and maybe that has something to do with me kicking my own behind on the beautiful set of stairs at Red Rocks tonight but I feel great. Yes, a little sore but still great. I love working out and I love being outside in the evening in the summer.... I couldn't ask for a more fitting job! Even though my school program is in the air, I feel as though everything is going to lead to great things.
Sorry for my obnoxious optimism tonight. I'm not sure where it has come from. It has been since last August that I've felt this confident, sure of myself, and on track again! haha, my foot didn't win nor did any of last year's events.. I told you all I would push through!
Now it is 11:36pm my alarm is going to ring oh say in about 5 1/2 short hours! Tomorrow will be my last day of nannying... sooo sad :*( I am going to miss that cute lil guy bunches!
As for you all.. good night!

Buck-up
I've tried to pretend my runs are hindering from other things but they really aren't... SOOOO what does all this mean. It means I need to get my butt back in the gym and get my strength up. I've been neglecting that area, actually I haven't done any strength training really since I broke it back in August--sooo it has been almost a year since i've been on a consistent program. I am the weakest I ever remember being right now... I have decided that there will be no long runs until... I get my strength back up. I'm starting with 1-3 miles and working on time and I'm scaling running back to about 4 days a week, maybe 5...
I am hoping to still do the steamboat half but I am no longer concerned about my time in it. That will come at a later date--don't worry Daniel- I haven't put away the idea of beating you, I'm just prolonging it so that when I do, I can do it even better! haha..
I won't be satisfied until i'm running a 7-8 minute mile again. In all reality, I won't truly be happy until I am running a 6:30-7min. mile again but that is going to take some time. My record on one mile is 6:20, 3 mile is 20:26, 8 mile is about 60 min. Therefore, I've got some work and it is going to take a bunch of time but right now my goal is to get down to an 8 min. mile pace on 3 miles w/i 3 weeks then i'll work on the rest!
toodles, i'm off to pack, do laundry, and maybe finish moving! OH and I forgot- Liss you'll be happy with this- I think Amy and I found a place to take boxing lessons! yeah, now I tell ya what that kicked my ass three years ago when I was in shape... i'm gonna get a beating!

"Joy and Glory of the Climb"

I think that it was Winston Churchill that said something along the lines of:
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.
Sir Winston Churchill
I need to stick this quote in my car, where I spend the majority of my day. I need to stick one on the computer, where i spend another portion of my day scaling through emails and doing other fun stuff. I need to stick one on my bedroom door. It goes something along the lines with "for every door that closes another opens." As much as I have hated that quote i've believed in it faithfully. I can't turn from that now. I closed a chapter in my life when I decided that I needed to pursue something other than lacrosse. This decision came one random day in Jan/Feb. of 2002, when I decided I was going to leave in June to go to Australia. This decision was spurred by the need for change and also by a friend who was studying in India at the time. I decided at that point there was more to life than lacrosse. What conclusion did I come to while i was over there- that indeed there was much more to life than lacrosse and I needed to stop putting that sport above everything and everyone that I knew and loved.
While over there I fell in love with climbing, loved running even more than i had in the past, loved attending a boot camp class at the gym, loved scuba diving, loved going sky diving and a bunch of other stuff. I swore upon my return i wouldn't let lacrosse consume my life.. but then I did it all over again and worse the second time around.
So what does any of this have to do with the here and now-yep lacrosse. I love it and I can't seem to get away from it. Opportunities keep finding me and then some and i'm afraid to shut the door on them because what if...what if they did work.. Problem being I've also found other things I love and other passions and other people i want to be around and spend time with. I'm afraid if I let lacrosse back into my life, I will let it consume me all over again. I don't know if this is healthy for me at this point in time. then I look at a bunch of wonderful girls that I don't want to let down and I think I could make it happen. I could juggle a hundred and one things and make it work for them... So I find myself caught up with this inner struggle of what to do and what not to do...............................hmmmmmm...
School is yet another piece. Do I take the risk, change my major and pursue something that I am very passionate about or do I follow a path that i have started and see where it leads? Either end has positive outcomes. Either end has negatives.. Both are scary and I constantly ask myself what if I don't like my decision. What if it doesn't give me the freedom to move from place to place? What if, I fail? I'm so scared of failure more than anything else in my life. Who isn't really? Yet, if I am who I am and do what I do, I don't think I could possibly fail. What is hard is my parents did a wonderful job of raising me and they did a wonderful job of always allowing me to make my own decisions. I remember always hearing "you make your own decisions, you accept whatever consequences they may bring, good or bad." I have to admit I may struggle accepting the good sometimes but i always owned up to the bad. However, I just wish sometimes they had this path planned out for me. I am glad and grateful they don't but...man I think sometimes it would make it so much easier. oh well..
This blog post isn't a complaint. I know how fortunate I am to have all these wonderful opportunities in front of me. I just can't possibly juggle every single one of them and i'm not sure which way to turn??? it is weighing heavy. Good thing I've got a wonderful person moving in with me who is very good about just listening to me talk through it all. The answers will come, the journey will be fun.... I need to keep everything in perspective!
Lastly, I'm going to admit something I don't cry, I was taught very well how not to cry and i'm not crying now but.. I swear my tear ducts want to fill up. Frustration, I've used running as a stress reliever, i became addicted. I was told twice (after both knee surgeries) you are going to have to take it easy on the running, you may not be able to run like you used to. Both times I came back strong. The one time I wasn't told that was this past surgery on my foot and the one time my running has totally stunk is now.. The more I push the more pain I feel, the more time off I take the more out of shape I become, or well the slower I get. HOwever, the time off doesn't seem to be helping it either. I'm stubborn really really really stubborn and I tell you what I'm going to win this battle if it is the death of me. I sat in ice baths and ice whirlpools for 2-3 years in college because I wasn't ready to give up lacrosse. I will do whatever it takes to not give up running and running hard! So it is time for me to get some sleep because that alarm is going to start buzzing at 5:30am and i've got some catching up to do! G'night my friends!
oh yeh and I like putting random pics up and realized I don't have one up of my friend Kel. So the above pic is of Kel and I. This is when I lived in Canandaigua, about 6 months before I moved to Denver.. wow, almost two years ago... ccrazyyyyyyyyyyyy..

I am a statistic.........
So this morning while I was in the shower trying to figure out when I am going to plan a mtg. with the director of education program at UCD this week, I realized that I have officially made one career change and now possibly a second before I ever started either. Our program is up in the air right now and I am making a meeting to maybe transfer into a master's program at UCD. It is a step down from an Ed.S. but it will take less time and get me in the same place, if not a better one. I'm confused and I may just stay where I am but... I don't know and I want all my options and consequences laid right out in front of me! I want to make a rational, educated decision... okay off that subject, we all have to be a statistic of something I guess?!
Home was GREAT! I love home and I love it in small amounts. Four days was perfect! I got to show Daniel the beautiful scenery. It was fun but we did spend a considerable amount of time in the car. Well worth it though. I even ended up out downtown... downtown, it has been over a year since i've gone out down there. I had a great time but realized i hadn't missed much at all.
I will post a pic or two when I get them. I never used my camera!

Phhheewwwww...
lets talk about my turgid throat, or well neck for that matter. Surprisingly, my throat is feeling much better. However, my lymph nodes are still swollen as all get up and are sore to the touch. So I keep touching and poking at them.. Smart Heather, Smart! haha. My head is still full and spinning.. I feel like sometimes i'm experiencing an out of body experience or something. It freakin weird.. Everything echos when I talk too.. Oh well what can ya do but push through! I think Liss's term is "shit or get off the pot." I'll be fine.
I'm starting to really enjoy running again. It is getting to the point where i don't hurt as much and it isn't so hard anymore. I've dropped about 5 pounds so that always feels good too! Ten more to go! Whoa. I can't wait to start lifting again!
On a happy note, I am going home tomorrow!! Yeah, it is my second trip in a month and a half. How exciting is that?? I can't wait to see my dogs, my sis's kiddos, lil Zachary, and of course my famille!!! oh, forgot my wonderful wonderful friends--no forgetting here I just saved the best for last! :) It will be a short trip but like always sweet... My friends usually make it worth every single penny :) Cheers guys and looking forward to friday night, which..i said was going to be an early one but we'll just have to see about that if it is raining! haha.. Might make it a night on the town! hoot hoot!
okay time to straighten the hair, run to the bank, go to work till 6:30, run, walk, and grab a beverage at Patrick Carrol's tonight with a long lost co-worker. Up bright and early again tomorrow at 4:15am. Oh by the way when I woke up at 4:30am this morning, I actually got out of bed and... I got so much accomplished. I felt great! I think from now on i'm giving into the fact that i am permanently stuck on east coast time and i'm just popping out of bed. Maybe that is when i'll put in some much needed gym time by myself!!
muah to ya'll. have a wonderful week and a wonderful weekend. .
Cheers!

Moss Never Grows on a Rolling Stone!

Moss Never Grows on a Rolling Stone!
Summer is coming and I'm feeling the serious itches to get out and about and to see what this world has to offer. I don't want to get any older. I mean folks 25 is getting up there and I know I'm still young but there is so much i want to do and see. For some odd reason today I have this weird anxiety like..well I can't fit it in with school and work and survive how am I going to make it all work when I have school loans to pay back and a real job. Oh well. Guess I just need to be content with traveling around the west for a couple of more years. Since I am dreaming though here is my list of places to go: Costa Rica, Argentina, India, Nepal, Denmark, taly, Greece, Zealand and Australia AGAIN, Thailand, Bali. For now that sums the abroad up but give me a day and i'm sure i'll have come up with more places. This list does not include what i'm missing out here in my own beautiful country.. Summer time does this to me..
(below) The hair. I have to do something with my hair. I think i'm tired of it. I'm thinking abouts something along these lines -short and colored but i'm thinking dark, not light. Let me know what you guys think about it! hmmmm.. I'm in a wedding in August though and I think I might want my long for that though.. oh decisions decisions.

Smushy Apple...EWWW
No, my post is not about my apple this morning, but it was a catchy title, huh? I'm weird, this I know. However, lets talk about that apple for a moment. I like hard, crisp apples- along with green bananas and hard pears. Once they hit the squishy gritty stage I don't like anymore. So i'm disappointed because...thats my apple this morning.. It makes for a sad breakfast. The only reason I am eating an apple anyway is cause Liss posted that they wake you up more than coffee and.. well they def. are better for you.
Wow, just wasted a paragraph on my apple. Really it shows how much I have to post. I realized another thing this morning- I don't think I like chocolate much, if at all. So I wonder why I eat it like it is going out of style sometimes... hmmmm?? I hate white chocolate, milk chocolate isn't all that great either.. I think really I only like the real small dark chocolate pieces with either almonds or espresso beans in the middle.. hmm then watch out the whole thing may just disappear!
Okay off the food... now to the real subject of my email. Every morning you wake up or every night you go to bed you should ask yourself "what am I going to do for myself today?" or "what did I do for myself today?" if nothing, make it a point to do something for yourself tomorrow. I know I know look who is talking the one person who will pack her schedule so full that she has no time for herself- but i'm trying really hard to find bits of time to just do something for myself. In these times we don't do enough of that!
so... do something for yourself today! That is my advice. For some odd reason i'm bouncy and off the wall but it is GREAT! I think it is because (knock on wood) I am running again.. wippppieee!

dreaming of the ocean!

dreaming of a land down under- June 2002
Great Barrier Reef- Cairns, Australia!!!
Pam, Karen, Moi! Dang do I miss this place. I looked
at pics tonight and got a little nostalgic. Wow, I can't wait for
the day that I get to go back to visit again... Memories-great memories:)
I can't wait till i have a real job and summers off and i may have a bit of
extra cash to travel!! Gots to use that passport up before it runs out.. yikes..

I jogged the Cherry Creek Sneak today with my roomie, Karie. It was a whole bunch of fun.
honestly i'm happy i finished 5 miles w/o breathing hard or really hurting. I haven't really run in forever. Back in March I did a 4miler but since then i haven't run too awful much because I started experiencing swelling and a few aches and pains.. blah..
However, this was a good start considering my marathon training starts this week. I was just trying to do build up the past few weeks and feel like i didn't accomplish much because i ended up taking like a week or a week and a half off.
i'm officially spent. I missed yet another concert tonight. I missed rusted root because of school and now i'm missing soul coughing tonight in fort Collins.. Oh well, really one a week a half of school and the semester is over. I can stay focused for that long.. i can i can! haha
i'm counting down the days to NY. I can't wait to see my sister's kids among a bunch of other things. It probably is going to be one of my best trips back home! :) yeah!
okay i'm so tired.. i'm actually going to call it a night.
Happy Week Everyone! muah!

Who sleeps? Why sleep?
no chocolate
reduce refined sugar
check email once, maybe twice a day
couldn't sleep again last night. I was up till 4am, got up at 7:45am. What is going on? you'd think with all the time I spend awake now i'd get something done but absolutely not! ahhhh.. so yeh i'm going on almost 4 hours of sleep today. heck, if my body gets used to that i'm going to have so much time to get stuff done. i'm done fighting it, i'm going to do whatever it wants to do.
anyway... i am hoping the above rules will help.
off to grease monkey, the spa, the coffee shop, work for about 6 hours, gym, library..
tooooddddddlllleeeesssss :)

Emotional Ringer...???
I LOVE Boulder! not posting much because i'm heading out the door with sketch book in hand. I'm headed to boulder for the evening. I'm going to go play on the flat irons and then sit and do some work in a coffee shop. why boulder? you ask, especially because it is 6pm and I live in Denver.
I need out of the city. I need some tranquility.. I need to calm myself.
i'm not so much worked up but my school program and what to do with my life has me soo stressed at the moment that I can't think....my head has been hurting the last week..
I am very happy with everything that is going on. Very happy I have a million and one opportunities and that is what makes it hard. What have I got myself into...??? I was doing just fine when I was working at a job I hated and... going to school. My light at the end of the tunnel was finishing school. Now, I have a job I love and i'm just trying to finish the program so I have a degree; not necessarily to go into the field. Weird that something so simple is really a stresser. many people would die for my opportunity and believe you me i'm very very very thankful for it. It just makes it hard.
Anyway, it is raining. no it is pouring and i am loving the rain at this moment in time. I'm throwing on a jacket and walking out my door.
i'm unfreezing my gym account tomorrow and i'm going to take it easy with running till my foot gets better.. i'll make it through and everything will work out wonderful. I know it will..

Suddenly I see..
sunset at home on the lake in july (i miss it!)this is what i want to be...
It is Thursday! One more week down. What am I doing? I am counting down days. I usually don't do this, I usually try to cherish each day as it comes. However, there seems to be bigger and better things in the future. I realized this morning I didn't feel like crawling out of bed because our apartment is sooooo freakin dirty. I can't take it anymore! It is just gross. I'm going to spend this weekend cleaning.....again...
the sun is shining. it is going to be a perfect day here today.. I tried to run this morning but my foot said "NO." I'm starting to get a bit frustrated but I guess that is life. I went to the school gym last night- it wasn't so bad but... i'm being picky. I was thinking about cancelling my gym membership to save the money monthly but I like the options of lots of locations and i like the variety of class times.. I need to start spinning classes again. I miss them and I still want to take salsa lessons. I'd like to do boxing too.. Liss-what class do you go to?
okay i'm off to nannying, then class, then a mtg. Should be back home around 9er!
Have a great day.

Happy Hump Day
Second thing: it is Autism Awareness Month or Week.. eek i don't remember nonetheless be aware.
third thing: my run sucked today. excuse my mouth. how is it that i can go out one day and run 45 min. and have to stop myself because "it is not progressing slowly" and then i go out this morning and struggle with 20...ahhhhh.. my foot is killing me and i refuse to give up.
Liss- you might have gotten me addicted to a new website. I am mapping all my runs now, as of today..
check it out at:

Have a great day :)
Monday, April 17, 2006

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! Mine was fun. I went for a 40 min. jog in the am. the first 16 min. were slow, i mean turtle speed slow because i couldn't shake this pounding headache. so i got annoyed, walked for 5 min. then decided i'd do interval work. that helped me pick up the pace for the remaining for the run.
I then went to church by myself-which for some reason is always nice. I don't go to church on a regular basis but try to get it in every now and then.
Carmen had all us misfits that don't have family over for fondue! yummmm.... i actually made a dipping sauce! congrats me and i made this awesome tender ranch ckn. last night. don't ask me how cause i was doing laundry, watching a show with karie, talking on the phone and drinking wine all while i did it. it turned out better than when i try to put effort into cooking.. hmm weird.
I should be sleeping but of course i'm not, falling back into typical "Heather Style" procrastination, late nights and lots of running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Okay so really I used to be able to keep up with it but maybe not as much anymore. I think i'm not sleeping because i'm super excited. I'm going home again in three weeks.. three weeks can you believe it.. it will be my third trip home this year, okay technically my second but wow. i never get to see my family this much EVER... then I come back and have about 3-4 more weeks and then everything changes again.
I love change. So it is official so I guess I can announce it. I am moving in with Daniel. I'm uber excited. I really didn't think I could be this excited about something. I know, strange right? Especially since I haven't known him very long but.. it is so worth any risk it may be and what is even crazier is that normally i'd see this as a huge risk and I don't at all. Everything seems to just be falling into place effortlessly.
Now just get through the rest of this semester and i'll be set to go. I have really got to get in gear because I used to have great time management skills and now they seem to be just awful. Then again that could be because the window in my car fell all the way down into the door today.. yeh, lets talk about this folks.. don't buy a jetta or at least not a 2001 one.. Seriously... So we spent the evening taking my door apart... so i have to take it in first thing in the morning bright and early... eekkk.. i'll be carless tomorrow and that thought scares me.. i don't want to be carless, i'm one of those people who could never be carless... sad, huh?
oh well. off to type a paper and then maybe get a few hours of sleep tonight. g'night

Got Junk in your Trunk?

ha.. No friends, i'm not talking about our bums...although i do have a bit of ghetto junk back there. lol. i'm talking about the trunk of your car. you may be wondering why i am asking this question. well, that is because it was brought to my attention that what you have in the trunk of your car explains about bit about who you are as a person... now whatever there are a bunch of things out there like this but...
this is what is in my trunk: a small blanket or throw, a two person tent, a car kit (in case of an emer. and yes i've had to use it), a lacrosse stick, a pair of sneaks, a first aid bag with lax balls in it, a bag of my kiddos stuff for work, some board games (connect four, go fish, etc.), and a ball. hmm so what does that sy about me.. i'm active, or at least like to be, i like nature, obviously i don't want to grow up and i'm prepared. not too shabby... weird huh?
let me know what is in all of your trunks... see how it compares.
so last night was karie's birthday and it got a bit rowdy but i was home kinda early.. yeppers they started pulling out shots and i said g'bye.. I woke up this morning and had forgotten our porch was still covered in streamers and there is a fish hanging right above our steps (yes i have hit my head on it four times now).. At the bar my pictures would indicate there was some sort of licking contest going on GROSS.. i mean i like my tongue and i stick it out often but i never touch people's skin with it... That was another thing that sent me running straight for home- when K's boy licked my cheek.. i was a bit grossed out...uncalled for?! haha..
i am posting now cause i'm bored and have about 15 min. before i have to go meet someone to look at a house. yep folks, i'm moving once again.. be proud of me though. i averaged 9 months this time... wow... in the last year i only moved three times.. thats huge for me, considering i've been out here for not quite two years and i've moved a total of five times... yikes pikipes...
my training: yesterday i ran 21 min. and maybe about 2.4 miles... i know slow.. i'm trying but i didn't drink any water at all yesterday and i had to stop because i was getting dizzy and my tongue was literally stuck to the top of my mouth.. yeh folks, no water for a day at altitude really doesn't work for me..
well Hoppy Easter! I'm out! Last year at this time I was in Orlando florida getting sunburnt... (thats the pic above)
ps- my myspace page has been updated and the pic show rocks.. check it out: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=11694169

Life is fluid.
I don't have much time to write or much to post except for something that i think is very important. This post is spurred from watching a friend dear to me wonder and worry. not that my philosophy is anything great but... it suits my fancy i guess.
life is fluid, you can't plan your life out; the best you can do is have hopes and dreams and go with the flow when things get in the way. If I had followed my plan when I was in high school, i would be living in my home town married, doing god only knows what... I don't know if i would be pursuing my masters degree or if it would be in the field that i am in now.
If i followed the plan i had throughout college, I would be working as a pharm. rep. making lots of dough and spending a lot of time in my car by myself, in fancy rest., and kissing doctor's bums.. now tell me do you think i would be happy? Probably not..
if my life would have gone as planned my senior year of college, i'd be in australia. I don't know what i would be doing if anything but bumming around. I might be traveling the world..
But none of those plans worked out and i'm fortunate enough to sit here and say they were all for the best. I know sometimes life throws you curve balls, puts you in a rut, or even may totally bring you down for a few, but then again life also throws pleasant surprises, wonderful moments, and puts big smiles on your face.
Therefore, what do you do with all of it? you "grin and bare it" so to speak. life is fluid and life is changing. The only thing constant about life is that nothing stays the same. I try to look back and say "that is where i was and that was great at the time and this is where i am now and for me this is even better" but sometimes it may not be better and that's when you just plug away and find things that may make it better.
we can't plan our lives all we can do is ride the rollercoaster through its ups and downs. i just hope you all experience more ups than downs....
hang in there--trust me everything truly does work out and everything happens for a reason. We are all stronger people because of our past struggles... and i wouldn't change any of mine for the world.
that is what i'm leaving you with this friday. have a great weekend!

Thursday already....gggeeezzzz
(miss ya Meesh...)Where did this week go? wow, it is thursday already! Crazy how time flies sometimes.. The most valuable thing in life and it goes oh so quickily... yeepppssss peeps!
This morning: 25 min. jog, 25 min. walk, push-ups, sit-ups.. my abs are oh sooooo sore! it is GREAT!
Let's talk about this runner to jogger thing. I used to be a runner now I am a 'jogger.' Blah. Really though I don't have much room to complain, I should be thankful that I can walk and jog. It is the small things folks, the small things we all should be thankful about. I need to just remind myself every now and then.
Well let the festivities begin... Tonight after class starts OC dinner party at Amy's, probably a trip to Patrick Caroll's because Regis lax is over and the coaches are planning a get together (not that I am much of a coach up there anymore). Tomorrow night is Karie's birthday- HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY ROOMIE and then Saturday is Rusted Root at Copper....Lots to do..
Have a great weekend.. muah!

back on sched.

I post in blue tonight
Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness. In heraldry, blue is used to symbolize piety and sincerity.
I am working on calming myself.. it is midnight, i should be asleep but the wheels in my head just keep turning. I'm trying oh so desperately to get myself back into a sleeping/waking schedule. I've struggled with this ever since my surgery in December. I royally messed my body up.. Anyway, I'm excited I start lifting again tomorrow a.m. I am soooo psyched. I tell ya there is a no slacking this time. it's time to get back in shape and get bathing suit ready.. There are some cute ones out there this season!
I've looked up a million places to camp this evening..while I should have been writing my assessment report... I've got the itch--here in Denver, i don't think spring exists we go straight from winter to summer. The past few days have been beautiful to say the least and we are in for 70 degrees and sunshine for the rest of the week! let the festivities begin.
Starting to put together my summer concert calendar. It starts with rusted root this weekend in Copper!! Yeah! Some of the lax crew from Regis is headed up and then of course there is Margs and Australia Mike and our neighbor Dean! Should be a good time, I may even get some spring boarding in...we'll see..
April 16th- Rusted Root @ Copper Mtn. - booked!
April 30th- Soul Coughing in Fort Collings- booked!
some to think about:
JUne 10- Big head Todd and the Monsters- Red Rocks
July 4th - Blues Travellers- Red Rocks
August 23rd- Ben Harper - Red Rocks
I've been checking out the hiking and camping book. I'm looking for some new and different places this summer- steamboat springs is def. on the list, along with some other places in Utah, and maybe New Mexico!
Summer ROCKS!!

Fulfilled

Hi Folks,
I don't know where to start, so much has changed in my life over the last two months. All I have to say is every single change has been for the better :)... yeh, I may be leaving the old heather for a bit, not much of it but a little. Suddenly, I don't want a packed schedule. I want to be able to think. For the past three years I've packed my schedule so full, so that I haven't had time to think. I guess maybe i've just made peace with that or....someone has snuck into my life and I want time to enjoy things. Yep, you read it right. Go ahead re-read the sentence, it is worth re-reading.. Someone has snuck into my life-when i least expected and yep....i'm in a relationship and so far so good... That's what Nashville was all about if you all are wondering.
Speaking of, lets talk about Nashville. There are so many highlights i'm not sure where to start: the park, fall creek falls, the tin angel, mountain bike racing, bbq, etc. You get the point, I had a wonderful time. Surprise, Surprise..I liked Nashville a lot and actually missed the humidity. It was sooo good for my skin.
Upon return to Denver, I was slapped in the face with work and even worse school work. I'm suddenly confused as to where I want my life to go. I love my job... LOVE my job.. now ya all know thats not a word i throw around lightly, which means i LOVE my job! Okay, so the thought of not doing it to return to school full time scares me... so i'm taking three classes this summer working about 25 hours a week, and then this fall i'm working about 30 hours a week and taking two maybe maybe three classes.. See... I've scheduled time to enjoy a little more!! yeah!
oh well.. anyway, the point of this entire blog i haven't been this happy with every aspect in my life.. There's always been something missing but nope nope not now.
I started my running training last week-- its slow, its short.... that kinda stinks but.. its better than nothing!
I start lifting on Monday.. fun 6:45am Mon, Wed, Fri. I CAN'T WAIT... no more chub rub for moi! haha
I think thats it.. my hair yes is still falling out but it is getting a bit better. my ears, well they ring maybe every other day--thats better than before. Four more weeks and my stress levels will be really low if any! I can make it..
i'll leave you with this song..
"don't fear your best friends,
because a best friend will never try to do you wrong.
don't fear your worst friends,
because they are just best friends that have done you wrong.
don't fear the night time
because monsters know your divine
don't feel the sunshine
cause everythings better in the summer time!!!!
and its never too late to start the day over!
never too late to pick up the phone and call
and its never too late to lay your head down on my shoulders
don't fear to walk slow
don't be a horse race, be a marathon
don't fear the long road
cause on the long road you have along time to sing a simple song!
don't fear your teachers
cause if you listen you can hear music in the school bell
don't fear your ownself
be a money to justify your worth
don't fear your family
because you chose them a long time before your birth"
I'm headed to Ny again soon! I can't wait. I am so excited and that is cause... I get to see someone again, I get to see my family, i get to see the babies, I get to see the wonderful place I grew up....
that's it i'm going outside for a walk! :) Peace!!

what I want... hmm..
I'm so excited to get out of here this weekend! yeah to Nashville.. I leave Thursday a.m. and it can't come fast enough.... Thats another thing I want - I want Thursday to come faster! I'd post more about it now but i'm going to save it for when I get back and have much more time..
I also want to go for a run and for it to not hurt.. oppss, i mean it doesn't hurt, not a bit. Okay, so most of the time it doesn't hurt, but today it did. My ankle and my knee... weird. I think it is because my second run of the day yesterday was at a much faster pace than normal. I think i did oh about 7:45 min. miles.. yeh i felt it a little this morning BUT i limited it to 20 min. I didn't know i was running that fast till I clocked it later.... Fast, scary how that seems fast now...blah, i'm getting old. So that is my want number two- to run fast and it to feel great. I want to kick my own booty...
Onto want number 3- i (sit down for this one) want school to be over. I want to start my own business and I want my license as a certified psychotherapist.. wow, I think that was about three wants right there. Yepper folks, I suddenly know what I want to do with my life for sure! Great thing about it is that can go almost anywhere with me! Or well... i can go anywhere with it...
Last want of the day- i want to go jog the hog back and run the stairs at red rocks.. I want to join a climbing gym and i want to take boxing lessons, but i don't want to hit anything but a bag, no people. I'm a peaceful person! ha...
Okay i'm done being selfish for now! its been a long time coming.. I am off to meet with the TA whom i was supposed to meet two weeks ago and she never showed and then to take my exam.. YIKES.. HELP... By the way.. before i finish I do have one complaint- inconsiderate people really really bug me!
i will post pictures of home and nashville upon my return.
have a wonderful weekend.. i'm out for now :)
oh and I almost forgot- my little boy i work with on Mondays said to me yesterday "Heather I misseded you last week" because I took friday off.. It was sooooo sweet that I didn't even correct the past tense!

GOING HOME :)

Going Home!!!!!!!!! It is funny when I have so much to do I just can't seem to focus.
I haven't been able to focus on anything for about a week now. I am soo ecstatic to head home. It is also very funny how I swore I wasn't blogging for the rest of the month and I think i've posted more this month than any other. Okay, maybe not quite but... i've posted a lot.
So home is going to be very busy. I'm home Thursday through Sunday this week and I think my schedule is just as packed as it is when I'm here in CO. Crazy how that goes sometimes.
My sis and I are making dinner for the family on Thursday evening. Not just ma mere and ma pere but also for my grandparents and my grandma and Jason's family... I'm sure the babies will start crying and I'll end up cooking alone. which is a very scary thought cause let me tell you... i really can't cook.. Thursday night I'm headed off to my grandma's house to stay with her.. Whoa, my own queen size bed.. real mattresses. I'm going to feel like a queen! haha Not to mention I get to hang with two of the cutest babies in the WORLD.. oh i'm gonna be the aunt that spoils them rotten...
Friday it is off to see my one and only hair dresser.. Well at least the one that i've seen since i could walk. I love her and miss hearing all her funny stories. I'm not sure what I should do. I'm def. dying my hair-i'm feeling a need for a change. I'll go darker and red like i do once a year or so.. maybe she'll talk me into something different but... i'm not going lighter! I'm debating on leaving it long or cutting it.. so if any of yas have any cute idears send them my way! Friday off to hang with Bri and his gf. Funny, i used to stay with his girlfriend when her parent's were out of town.. i wouldn't say babysit cause she was old enough to do that but she wasn't old enough to drive so i would take the to school, pick them up, yada yada. ya know the mom thing.. We'll just hang and watch movies. Last I heard he is hoping to be out of the hospital bed and walking by late july. Man, sure puts my injury in perspective. Makes me feel bad about all that complaining I did. He is a tough cookie though, he'll make it through.
then comes Saturday!!!! hooorraaaayyyy--i've been longing to see my bestest FOREVER and i've been longing for a wine tour.. Can you believe it, it has been two years since our last one.. no excuse for that. I think we are going to head around Seneca lake--there are a few more wineries to hit. I think we are all piling it up in the K&L van, no limo this time.. I hope we all fit.. Speaking of I need to call Kel. I think the crew is going to consist of myself, em, kel, hb, ellie, Adge (she is coming in from OHIO..man do i feel special.. such a great friend:), kendra, kris, scutter, maybe my sis (she needs to get out) and kel's man greg. I'm not sure if hb's boy or el's boy will be going us or not but they sure are welcome to come.. the more the merrier. I don't really care what wineries we hit I just want to go to the champagne house and hazelit!!! RED CAT RED CAT! After the tour, I'm prolly gonna jump in the car with Heath and head to the Switz.. oh good times there.. it is the polar bear swim and lots of my insane friends will be jumping in the lake at in the 20-30 degree weather outside. I'd love to say those idiots will at least wear wetsuits but nope.. just a bunch of small town boys and some cottagers running around in boxers and chics in bathing suits jumping in a** cold freezing water. You'll see me fully clothed..
Saturday i'll be staying with the grandparents and meeting up with them for a late dinner. Sunday morning back to the parent's house for bfast and to say goodbyes.. *tear*.. I love my family with all my heart. I love my hometown but it isn't for me right now. I'm not sure if it will ever be for me again but my wonderful fun friends will def. keep me going back to visit.
Upon my return to Denver I'll be working full time for three days and going to class then I'll be flying out once again for Nashville.. yippeee and this trip has me just excited as the one home! I'll save that post for a later time though--since this one is getting a bit long and I still have a fasfa form staring me down and .... an empty bag waiting to be packed and Carmen is calling.. yeah Carmen.. making my famous salad haha.. its not famous just seems to have a reputation i guess.. I get to meet Carmen's boy finally! :) she just informed me he was going to be there. I've heard so much about him.. i'm excited. whoah... overload.. working all day tomorrow.. going straight to carm's after work around 7er and then working till 8pm tuesday (might have to change the schedule around a bit so i can catch the girls lax game) then full day thursday that will end will an 11:50pm flight out of denver.. eeeeeekkkksssssss! i'm excited.. I love traveling!! :) okay must get stuff done.
